Participants in the Games of Heroes defending Ukraine

Charity Foundation ‘Kharkiv with You’ stands by veterans during the hardest of times

The full-scale war has changed the lives of millions of Ukrainians and halted many peaceful initiatives, including the Games of Heroes, which the Charity Foundation “Kharkiv With You” has been organizing since 2016. These competitions became a symbol of inner strength, where veterans and people with disabilities proved that true victory means overcoming personal limitations and inspiring others.

But the Games of Heroes are more than just sport. They are a community that unites those who have endured pain and loss yet found the strength to move forward. Today, as the country once again needs protection, participants of the Games of Heroes have returned to the frontline.

Among them is Roman Kashpur, the 2020 champion, together with his brothers-in-arms Triton and Bilyi. They had already suffered combat injuries and undergone rehabilitation, but once again took up arms. Their story is proof that the Games of Heroes cultivate resilience that manifests not only in sports arenas but also in the toughest battles.

The Charity Foundation “Kharkiv With You” continues to stand by every participant. After Bilyi’s repeated injury, the foundation provided treatment for his damaged limb and organized rehabilitation. We believe that support for veterans must be constant — during competitions, in hospitals, throughout recovery, and even when they return to the frontlines.

The Games of Heroes are more than a sports project. They are a school of life, a community that helps one another endure and achieve victory. That is why the Charity Foundation “Kharkiv With You” remains close to every hero, supporting them in both struggle and recovery.

Why the Games of Heroes Matter to Society

The Games of Heroes are not just sporting events. They are a platform that transforms society’s perception of veterans and people with disabilities.

  • Building a culture of respect. Participants prove that inner strength and the will to win have no limits. Their stories inspire thousands of Ukrainians and shape a new vision of heroism.
  • Social integration. The Games of Heroes help veterans return to active life, feel the support of the community, and discover new opportunities for self-realization.
  • A role model for youth. The competitions show that true strength lies in resilience and mutual support, fostering a generation that values courage and responsibility.
  • Unity in times of trial. The Games of Heroes have become a symbol that even in the hardest moments, Ukrainians can unite around shared values — strength, honor, and solidarity.

That is why the Games of Heroes are important not only for their participants but for society as a whole. They remind us that victory begins with inner strength, and supporting one another makes us unbreakable.
